Consider // Looking forward

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Happy 2022, friends!

I decided to not write on New Year’s Eve because, if you’re anything like me, you already did some introspection and a look back over the past year.

The old is gone… the new has begun!

What matters today is looking forward and anticipating all of the “new” God is going to do with you, through you, and in you this next year.

As I drove home from NYE festivities early this morning, rather than turning on music or my latest audiobook, I prayed and thought about what I’m looking forward to in 2022. To my surprise, I was still finding more things as I got home 25 minutes later!

– Fresh start

– Getting deeper into the Word

– Building on my exercise routine

– My niece’s wedding!

– Possible family trip to Scotland!

– New rest practices

– Unique ministry opportunities

– Dating

– Growth in relationships

– and more!!

Consider // Take time today while you’re exercising, sitting with family, driving… to state some things you are looking forward to in 2022.

I believe you will be pleasantly surprised how much there is to joyfully anticipate as we turn from the old and start anew.

Whether it is simply the changing of the calendar, or a decision to put off sinful ways and follow Christ, I cheer you on and celebrate what we already know – God delights in showing goodness to those who seek Him!

Let’s look forward and see what God is doing!
