Haven’t seen it yet

Isn’t it amazing when a song preaches at just the right moment?

Just this morning, I was having an “I can’t even” moment as I was getting ready to leave for work, frustrated with “what if” questions swirling in my head and fatigue.

Yet, I still got myself together and headed off to work. As I got in my car, I turned on the Joy FM and there was the opening notes of Danny Gokey’s “Haven’t Seen It Yet”. It is played a lot on Christian radio (Kudos to Danny!), but do not let this song slip by without paying attention to the lyrics.

Have you been praying and you still have no answers?
Have you been pouring out your heart for so many years?
Have you been hoping that things would have changed by now?
Have you cried all the faith you have through so many tears?

Don’t forget the things that He has done before
And remember He can do it all once more

It’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
You’re closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet…

He had the solution before you had the problem
He sees the best in you when you feel at your worst
So in the questioning, don’t ever doubt His love for you
‘Cause it’s only in His love that you’ll find a breakthrough

PREACH!

What I love about the beginning of this song is that, not only can we relate to one or all of the questions, but it is also a reminder to pray… pour your heart out… hope… cry out to God!

The Bible is filled with believers crying out to God, seeking a glimmer of hope in the desolate lands of this world. The Psalms, in particular, are filled with laments and prayers of David and other unknown writers pouring their hearts to our God. Here is a small sample of verses…

Even though dark powers prowl around me,
I won’t be afraid.
I simply cry out to you:
“Rise up and help me, Lord! Come and save me!”
– Psalm 3:6-7 TPT

The grave wrapped its ropes around me;
death laid a trap in my path.
But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
yes, I prayed to my God for help.
He heard me from his sanctuary;
my cry to him reached his ears.
– Psalm 18:5-6 NLT

Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly!
– Luke 18:6-8 NLT

Here’s what I’ve learned through it all:
Don’t give up; don’t be impatient;
be entwined as one with the Lord.
Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope.
Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!
– Psalm 27:14 TPT

No matter what, I will continue to hope and passionately cling to Christ, so that he will be openly revealed through me before everyone’s eyes. So I will not be ashamed! In my life or in my death, Christ will be magnified in me.
– Philippians 1:20 TPT

God desires for us to join with those who went before us in crying out to Him. With continued pouring of ourselves out to Him and a posture ready for His revealed promises, comes refilling, a confidence in receiving and, ultimately, VICTORY!

He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can’t see
We can’t see it yet, but we believe that
He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can’t see

  2. Wow! I’ll have to say it …… BACKWARDS… WOW!
    I Listen to K Love, and ever time, almost without fail, when I have the same feelings, after one of the daily… Narcissistic criticism from certain family members, she m I find myself going ng to my “”WarRoom”, and praying for them, because I believe that it is. a Spiritual attack against me by the enemy, trying to discourage me from completing the film project on time.
    I DO find myself walking into that room, far from any sound, with the exception of the stereo…in tears, due to the fact that what The Lord put on my Heart to blog on my WordPress website, I can no longer focus on writing it. I goes days and weeks, reposting, or not posting at all. So, I just go in and pray…For several hours, just talking to God, and gaining more insight and wisdom. Invariably, as I exit that beautiful space, that songs begins…
    I know it’s a cliché, but God IS Good…And ALWAYS, On Time!

      It’s a cliche because it is true, God truly is good and has our best interests in mind. Continue to go to your war room & seek God’s guidance!
