Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
// Psalm 62:5 NLT
Ruth Chou Simons writes, “I’ve squandered too many days coddling expectations rather than waiting with expectancy. One leaves you tight fisted and anxious while the other rests with a posture of outstretched hands, ready to receive with hope and confident trust.”
I have been there too many times myself, focused on the cares of this world rather than the Savior of this world.

As Advent has begun this week, I have been reciting versions of Psalm 62:5, centering myself on our one true hope.
Emmanuel.
I sit and wait quietly before my God and Father, for my Hope comes from Him.
Emmanuel.
This season we have the opportunity to posture ourselves in reverence to the beauty, significance, and joy of Jesus’ first coming as a baby boy, AND anticipate His glorious second coming as our King!
Emmanuel.
Let us all wait quietly…
expectantly…
purposefully before God as He brings Hope this Advent season.
