“The whole purpose of the artistic and spiritual life was [is] to dig for the submerged sunrise of wonder—so that a man sitting in a chair might suddenly realise that he was alive, and be happy.”
// G. K. Chesterton
After a week and a half of anticipating and tracking Hurricane Ian (my family and I are okay), I want to dig for the sunrise of wonder!
A little bit of time being creative – maybe trying my hand at crocheting – and reading is just what the doctor ordered for me.
What about you?
When can you carve out time to dig for wonder? What is something that will get your creative juices flowing and give you an outlet from worry and stress?
Maybe grabbing your Bible, a journal, and heading to the park or your backyard hammock is where the sunrise of wonder will warm the cockles of your heart (isn’t that the best phrase?!).
In a world where there’s so much easy-to-grab nonsense, let’s make it a habit to reach farther and grab those moments of wonder!
