“The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
I will answer them. I am the Lord, the God of Israel. I will not abandon them.
I will open rivers on the barren heights, and springs in the middle of the plains.
I will turn the desert into a pool and dry land into springs.
I will plant cedar, acacia, myrtle, and olive trees in the wilderness.
I will put juniper, elm, and cypress trees together in the desert,
so that all may see and know, consider and understand,
that the hand of the Lord has done this,
the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
// Isaiah 41:17-20 CSB

The Lord is always creating ways for us to see Him at work.
Take a few moments to read Isaiah 41 and you will find the promises of His presence and power, and the passion of His love for His people.
In the verses above… take notice how God gives insight into His ways.
He performs miracles – brings the poor and needy pools of refreshment and trees of nourishment and protection – “so that all may see and know, consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
Would you not agree that happening upon “rivers in barren heights“ or cypress trees in the desert would bring you to your knees in the midst of your personal desert?
God wants us to see Him. Pay Attention.
God wants us to know Him. Learn from what you see.
He wants us to consider Him. Meditate on what you are learning.
He wants us to understand… all He does is to woo us back to Him! Come to a place of acceptance.
The things you need the most in your barren moments are placed in front of you by a God who loves you and desires to provide for you.
See,
Know,
Consider,
and then Understand that He is for you.
He is always providing a way for you to survive in the desert and barren moments of your life. We must choose to live in the posture of understanding “the Lord has done this”.
