Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever.
// Psalm 23:6 NLT
If the last two years have taught us anything, it is that uncertainty is certain.
We don’t know what tomorrow holds, let alone five minutes from now.
We can plan and plan, and those plans can be tossed into the wind.
We can choose to go with the flow, and the flow can become a flood.
This is not meant to be a downer post.
It is meant to remind us that we are not in control of so many aspects of life,
and yet we can still be okay.
I started my 2022 getting COVID-19 and having to quarantine for almost two weeks.
Today is the third anniversary of my mom’s passing.
So many people around me are getting COVID or are dealing with fresh grief and deep sorrow.
And yet…

Can I get an Amen for “and yet”?!
Because that “and yet” is God’s goodness smack dab in the center of our hurt, our struggles, our questions, our fears, our uncertainty.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life.
As followers of Christ, we are assured of God’s goodness. We are assured of His unfailing love. We are assured amidst our uncertainties in this life.
Whatever we are dealing with, remember “and yet”… God’s goodness is pursuing us.
