Consider // Sha ah

Do not yield to fear, for I am always near.
Never turn your gaze* from me, for I am your faithful God.
I will infuse you with my strength
and help you in every situation.
I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.

// Isaiah 41:10 TPT

*sha ah – Hebrew root word; to gaze, to look around

Consider //
Where does your attention turn to in difficult times? Where do your affections lie when you seek respite? What do you gaze upon when life gets hard, and when life is easy?

To gaze means to “look steadily and intently, especially in admiration, surprise, or thought”. It is so easy to “gaze” upon things of this world, to try and find solace in a person, a drink, entertainment, a new place…

Yet our affections for these things will fade and the comfort will lose it’s power.

Always.

In choosing to turn our gaze upon our faithful God, we will find what we need, what we are desiring.

We will be infused with strength and will be helped – in every situation.

No longer will the things here on earth seem fulfilling because we will begin to know true fulfillment when we turn our gaze upon He who is always faithful, always kind, and always willing to meet our needs.

Keep my eyes from gazing upon worthless things,
and give me true life according to Your plans.

// Psalm 119:37 VOICE
