I write this blog in the midst of all my stuff…
all my learning
all the emotions
the monotony of day to day
all my joys
the weight of this dark world
the ever-changing shape of grief
the forming and reforming of relationships
my continued understanding, and lack of understanding, of self
all my questions and analyzing
the beautiful audacious silliness of things (I must write more about this!)
all my wins and my losses
all my re-learning
and, as Margaret Feinberg has written,
“the accumulation of dings and nicks and slights and abrasions that tear the soul”.*

I am reminded daily that I cannot do this life in my own strength and willpower. There is absolutely no way!
I am not meant to.
As God reminds the Israelites of His covenant promise in Isaiah, I am reassured of the opportunity to rely on His faithfulness and His strength to endure “all my stuff”,
Do not yield to fear, for I am always near.
Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God.
I will infuse you with my strength
and help you in every situation.
I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.’
// Isaiah 41:10 TPT
