The save and the release

I need saving!

I need saving… mostly from myself.

Do you feel me? Can you relate?

In this moment of reflection, I lift up my praise to the One who cares and the One who saves.

Praise Jehovah! Praise the God who saves!

Blessed be the Lord—
day after day he carries us along.
He’s our Savior, our God, oh yes!
He’s God-for-us, he’s God-who-saves-us.

// Psalm 68:19-20 MSG

He most assuredly saves His people and desires for us to live lives released from the enemy and the chains of this world!

We (I) need only call out to Him.

Yet, how often have I chosen to run my life?

I must confess I have been trying to do a lot of “running” lately. I have given measly portions of my time and my concerns to God, and held onto much of my life.

And I ask today, what has been gained?

In this upside-down life of faith, our role is to release everything to God and fill our lives with Him! We must let go of the calculating, the saving, the worrying, the ruminating that hinders us, and hand over “all the things” of this life to the God who covers all of our sins and our cares with His love and His provision.

He loves us even as we hold on tight to this world.
And He will love us through our releasing.
He waits eagerly to provide.
And He gives lavishly as we relinquish our hold and open our hands to His provision.

How have you been acting as “savior” in your own life? What do you need to release today?

I lift up my soul to You, O Lord.
O my God, I trust in You.
Do not let me be ashamed.

Do not let those who fight against me win.

Show me Your ways, O Lord.
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me.
For You are the God Who saves me.
I wait for You all day long.

// Psalm 25:1-2,4-5 NLV
