“Recenter
my scattered senses
upon the
Presence of God.”

When you want to connect with God, do you feel scatter-brained and unfocused?

I do all of the time!

As I have begun the habit of listening to the Lectio 365 app morning and evening, I am drawn in immediately as they recite the phrase “recenter my scattered senses upon the presence of God”.

I need that reminder and I know someone reading this will need it as well.

Consider //
The next time you desire quiet time with God, recite the phrase and then be still.

Allow your mind to move from scattered to focused.

Then thank God that He is your true center, the redeemer of your time and efforts, and the lover of your soul.

If music helps focus you, listen to “I’m Listening” by Chris McClarney as you quiet your heart and mind to be in the presence of God.

When You speak, confusion fades
Just a word and suddenly I’m not afraid
‘Cause You speak and freedom reigns
There is hope in every single word You say

I don’t wanna miss one word You speak
‘Cause everything You say is life to me
I don’t wanna miss one word You speak
Quiet my heart, I’m listening

When sorrows roar and troubles rage
You whisper peace
When I don’t have the words to say
I won’t lose hope
When storms won’t break
You keep Your word
Oh, and Your promises will keep me safe

Your ways are higher
You know just what I need
I trust You, Jesus
You see what I cannot see
Your ways are higher
You know just what I need
I trust You, Jesus
You see what I cannot see
