In the last couple days I have watched three movies from the jar.

I first watched “The Shop Around the Corner” a few years ago once I found out that “You’ve Got Mail” was based on it. This is another one that I could give or take, but the one thing I do enjoy is how low-key Jimmy Stewart plays his character (especially compared to the hyper dramatic acting in “It’s a Wonderful Life”). I find Mr. Stewart quite appealing in this, yet my favorite role of his is L.B. In “Rear Window”!

Because of Disney+, there’s the joy of watching some older movies (or short in this case) that cannot be found otherwise. This version of the Christmas Carol is the first one I ever watched as a child, so there was MAJOR nostalgia while I watched. I love this version of Disney animation, and the kiddies in Mickey’s household are so darn cute! Tiny Tim! Scrooge McDuck is quite perfect as Ebenezer Scrooge (Duh!), and I would happily watch an extended version of the Carol with this delightful crew.

I must confess I had never watched “Miracle on 34th Street” before, and have only sat in the room when the 1994 version was on TV. There was potential with this movie. Quality actors and acting, but this story does not play out well enough for me to pull at my heart strings or make it believable. Funny, right? All in all, I am glad I finally watched it.
That’s it for now. More movies to come!
Merry Christmas!
