“I am praying not only for these disciples
but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.
I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—
as you are in me, Father, and I am in you.
And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”
// John 17:20-21
Jesus prayed this prayer not only for those He was with while on earth, He prayed for us.
We are the legacy of this band of brothers (and sisters, Amen!) who embodied living out life with Jesus – the beauty, the confusion, the urgency, the dedication, the learning, the communion.
As the disciples lived and breathed with Jesus – and Jesus with them – we live and breath with the Holy Spirit. And we live in the knowledge and foundation that Jesus considered us (YOU) while doing life and teaching His disciples.
He prayed for unity then among His first disciples, and for us now, so that the world would believe in Him.
Today, we pray for unity so that those living with us during these difficult days may come to know Him in His power, resurrection, and love.
