I am finishing up a Lent Bible Study in the book of Jeremiah by the community She Reads Truth. It has been heavy reading, spiritually impacting and deeply meaningful during this season.

After finishing the book of Jeremiah, we are now reading through Christ’s journey to the cross. The words of Jesus hit deeper now. I will never read the Holy Week scriptures the same again!

One phrase from Jesus’ teachings at the temple stuck out to me as I read through Luke 21 yesterday. Jesus is describing the “Signs of the End of the Age” and in verse 13, I read…

This will give an opportunity to bear witness.

“This” is referring to the persecution His followers will endure after His death and resurrection.

The persecution will be an opportunity!

The difficulties that lay ahead for His people will be their platform.

Our present difficulties are our platform!

We have THIS opportunity to bear witness to WHO Christ is and WHAT He has done for us.

Right now, will you stand on God’s promises fulfilled in Christ Jesus? Will you testify to His faithfulness and salvation freely given to each of us?

This Holy Week, walk with Jesus. Allow the journey to the cross to bring you back to Him.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.
