“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden?”

Aren’t we all? We are often reminded – & I hope you take to heart – that everyone has a story and a struggle. Life is hard and we often think we need to take it all on ourselves and not burden others. That is not what Jesus invites us to do.

“Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.”

Read that portion again, but out loud. It is like a thirst-quenching drink of cold water after being in the heat of the sun all day.

An oasis – noun, a pleasant or peaceful area or period in the midst of a difficult, troubled, or hectic place or situation.

Jesus states he will refresh your life; He will bring peace amidst the troubled moments. Don’t you want that? Don’t you yearn for an oasis from the heavy burdens you put on yourself every day?

“Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.”

Today, begin to learn and discover the refreshment of laying down your burdens and handing them to Jesus. Start with one and allow this portion of scripture to reassure you of His promise.

He is with you and His promises are true.
