A gentleman

“Jesus is not going to make you or push you to follow Him. He is a gentleman! He will gently guide you with the Spirit.”

– Pastor Matthew Hartsfield

I don’t think we realize how much we are pushed into, coerced, manipulated and even threatened into decisions and hearing others’ viewpoints these days. With social media becoming THE source for information of all kinds – true, false, good, bad & ugly – we are almost constantly having to assess and manage how we react and what we can believe.

Simply, I would say it’s a harsh world out there that breeds lack of trust and the need for a thick skin.

Take heart though… you can breath easy with Jesus.

He loves you and desires your devotion to Him. BUT He will never push His way into your life. He will never manipulate you into believing in Him. He will never threaten anything against you to ensure His place in your heart.

Jesus is a gentleman.

He gently guides you through the counsel and moving of the Holy Spirit to bring you to Himself. He understands what it is like to walk this earth – harsh and unforgiving as it is. He gets the difficulty in seeing the truth and sincerity amidst the lies and those only out for themselves.

He gently, patiently and lovingly ushers you into His arms and cannot wait to show you what authentic relationship is.

Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us… And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!
