If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?
Matthew 6:30
God considers you, considers us, above all else.
Consider
Verb. To think carefully about (something), typically before making a decision; To think about and be drawn toward (a course of action); To regard (someone or something) as having a specified quality; To look attentively at.
We so often are focused on ourselves – our inadequacies, our trials, our goals, our desires. We get caught up in the world around us. Life can be so chaotic and stressful, overwhelming and disheartening, it is no wonder we lose that sense of awe and wonder we attribute to our childhood.
We need to take time to consider…
God.
Almighty. Father. Protector. Emmanuel. Lover of our souls. Hope Bringer. Creator.
God – in His enduring love, His providential care, His power – considers us. Takes time to think about and draws near to us. God has so much to pour out into us.
We need to take time to draw near to Him.
What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
Matthew 6:31-33
Take time now to consider other characteristics of God. Allow each one to settle over you.
Praise Him.
And thank Him for considering you.
