I want to continually live in a posture of receiving from God.
Not so drawn in by the things of this world.
I desire to daily choose to make the better choice.
“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.””
Luke 10:38-42 NIV
What was the better choice? Why was Mary’s seemingly lazy and unhelpful choice the one Jesus approved of?
To be attentive to Jesus, to joyfully sit at His feet anticipating His words… that is where He wants us. He wants us to be in a posture focused on His presence.
We can choose to live our daily lives in a way that invites Jesus into each moment, to be open to His leading and direction, which will provide us with peace and discernment for our day.
When we get into the habit of starting our day giving gratitude and praise to Him, that same gratitude will flow more easily into the rest of our day.
When we open scripture and take quiet moments with Jesus, we allow ourselves space to breath and allow His Word to find footing in our hearts.
When we take moments throughout the day to reflect on the good and the edifying, we find ourselves growing into His nature.
And so, I want to continually live in a posture of receiving from God. I desire to daily choose to make the better choice.

I was looking back on some of my posts, enjoying the rhythm of God’s speaking into my life. Here is one from September 2018 that may speak to you this day.
