Marching as to war…

I was on my way to work this morning and listening to Rob Thomas.
There’s a line in All that I Am that states “I am the white dove for a soldier
ever marching as to war.” It really is a beautiful song and, after reading the lyrics, it has a spiritual depth to it that I haven’t heard in any of his other music.

Anyway…that “marching as to war” line stuck out at me as I finished the drive and went into my office.  I looked up the words to Onward Christian Soldiers….

                      Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
                            with the cross of Jesus going on before.
                        Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
                             forward into battle see his banners go!

Songs like this, and Send the Fire and O Boundless Salvation just get you going….to fight the good fight. I love them…such motivation in every line!

I feel I have not been marching as to war.  I have been marching more as to the trenches to take cover…as to the nurses complaining cause I have a little cut on my arm…as to the battle room to give strategies rather than action.

I think these actions are just human nature to protect ourselves…but God does not work within the restrictions of human nature. I love Him for the very fact that He pushes the boundaries…draws us out of our safe hiding places…pursues us to better ourselves by building character and getting out on the front lines.

I’m preparing for battle.  Each day I seek God’s placement for me.  A year ago I stepped out and decided to join the good fight. For a while, the trenches have been the place for me; praying, strategizing and seeking God’s plan of action.  God is so preparing for me to be stepping out into battle….I can sense it.  That is probably why I have been questioning my abilities and His moving in my life.  God works in all of this for the good of the many!

Those are my thoughts for today…I want to start marching as to war…knowing God is within me in all my dealings.  God is amazing!  I am thankful for His constant presence and all-encompassing love!

Jesus Walk tonight ….Peace!

    Hey thanks for the encouragement…I am still trying to grasp all the different things I have learned through that one lesson in waiting for a job. Patience is definitely an awesome thing when we are waiting for the Lord to do something we Need!
