Jars of Clay’s new cd Redemption Songs comes out today.  I was thinking about how long dc Talk and Jars have been a part of my life…and still are very much relevant.  Jars of Clay reinvent themselves every cd and that just totally adds to the anticipation of each release.  I’ll be going to get the cd after work.  I was listening to some of the old stuff on the way home from Lakeland last night and I just really found the second verse and chorus of Needful Hands so how I’ve been feeling about God lately:  

To find that I could fall
And still your grace surrounds, pursuing

 I (ME) can only go so far, gain little, strive for just about normalcy,  stand at 5 feet, search through the fog of superficiality and brands, allow money to guide my success, aim for other people’s acceptance and ideals, believe that I’m only worth what I can show for myself…..

But with God pursuing me, Christ interceding on my behalf and the Holy Spirit pushing me along…I know that even if I stumble and fall – and the world around scoffs and laughs at me – I can freely fall into the arms of grace. God pursues me…loves me unconditionally…even when my needy hands are empty.  All He wants is for me to raise them up to Him, in praise and awe!
