While my vision – the Christian vision – is Christ, His vision is….me!

What do you see when you look at the gorgeous painting to the left?

(For those of you who have seen this work, it is from the Jesus Painter, Mike Lewis.  I have seen him a few times at Army events and at Youth Specialties.  Wow…his work is breathtaking.)

The painting is what our vision should be….Christ.  The most amazing yet obvious notion, though, is that…if our vision is Christ then…wouldn’t Christ’s vision be us?

Again, look at this painting…look into the eyes…compassion, concern, kindness…love exudes! He cares about you…about me! He continually focuses His gaze upon our lives and reaches out to us when we’re in need, when we need a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on. I do not want to see Jesus’ eyes filled with tears or filled with questions of “do you even like me?”

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
