Here we go….
1) The Tree:
It was great to be back at The Tree…you don’t realize how much you miss corporate worship until you’re there amongst it again. Thanks God for sending your Spirit! Jake English mainly spoke on Ephesians 4:17-23.
Throw off the old and put on the new.
Along with Ephesians, Jake ewnt over to 2 Corinthians 5. I was trying to grasp my thoughts about this whole topic so I could write about it….but its all just so deep and profound, that I’m just gonna let Paul do the talking….
2 Corinthians 5:15-21
He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons!
Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.
How? you say. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.
We put so much emphasis on the Cross, rightly so, but we need to dwelling on the resurrected life we have been given through Christ. Also – vs. 18 All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other – the NIV version explains this as we are called to a ministry of reconciliation. Wow, this gave new meaning to what I’m doing. We are called to bring people back to Christ, to bring people back to a relationship with each other. I’ve never thought of it in this manner, but it fits with my longing for fellowship, to bring fellowship among young adults here in Tampa, and to bring uor generation back to God! Wow!
2) I’ll write about the non-Christian topic tomorrow.
3) My Deep Thought for Jennifer:
I think a good product would be “Baby Duck Hat”. It’s a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.

That’s about it for today….I really hope you read that scripture and take to heart! I still am. God Bless you!
